Amongst the notable achievements of the last team of Bantu immigrants was the development of political states, or maybe the introduction of centralized techniques of government. They recognized the Maravi Confederacy about 1480. Throughout the sixteenth century the confederacy encompassed the higher section here of what is now central and southern Malawi, and, at the peak of its influence, during the 17th century, its process of government afflicted peoples within the adjacent parts of present-working day Zambia and Mozambique.
